I had just gotten out of a long term relationship and my friend Jessica and her husband knew Alex. She told me there was a boy she knew of and she was going to set me up, that I had no choice, and I was going to fall in love with him. She was living, temporarily, at her mother in laws house and she invited us both over to hang out for like an hour and so we could meet. [After meeting], we all decided to go on a group date together in two weeks. We went out to dinner with Jessica and John, and another couple they knew. Before Alex left he asked me if he could take me out to dinner the next night, just the two of us. We have been together ever since!“
Krystle: “Alex’s family has a long running history of vacationing in Disney World. We decided to join them for a trip in October 2017 and had a wonderful time. So much fun, in fact, we decided to do it again October 2018. On the second night we were there Alex had made dinner reservations for just the two of us at the California Grill in the Contemporary resort. One of the perks is that the restaurant overlooks Magic Kingdom and you have a great view of the nighttime fireworks. There is even a rooftop balcony you can stand out on and watch them from. When we got to the restaurant we ordered a glass of wine and went out on to the rooftop. As the fireworks started he got down on one knee and proposed and everyone was cheering and clapping. When we got back to our hotel, Alex had had his brother set up the kitchen table with flowers, more wine, Mickey Mouse wine glasses, Bridal Mickey Ears and two engagement shirts for both of us he had ordered off of Etsy. We wore the shirts the next day and it was so fun having everyone we met congratulate us and tell us their engagement stories. We celebrated all week.“
Krystle: “I went to a couple of dress shops and even bought one at the first store I went to. In the end I still wanted to look at some other places because I didn’t feel it was the one. I tried on many dresses and found a reason to not like each one. I really wanted a higher neckline and straps which seemed impossible to find. When I found the dress it instantly stood out because it was unlike any of the other dresses I had seen. My style is more classic and simple and I loved how it was understated, yet form fitting and the back was low cut and gorgeous.“
Krystle: “Alex is my opposite in all ways personality wise. All the things I lack he makes up for, and vice versa, yet we share the same values and end goal. By pairing our strongest traits together we have gotten so much farther ahead then we could have ever gotten by ourselves. At the risk of sounding corny, he truly completes me. He makes me laugh so much that it is honestly hard to ever be mad, or at least stay mad, at him. And he is incredibly cute :)“
Alex: “Standing at the front of the aisle and looking out at all my friends and family who were there to share in our day was an amazing experience.“
Krystle: “Standing at the alter and staring into Alex’s eyes while saying our vows, and then officially walking down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. – in those moments I could not have been happier.“
Krystle: “For our first dance we danced to, ‘I Don’t Dance’ by Lee Brice. Alex chose it. It took us forever to pick our songs and we actually didn’t officially finalize any until the night before we had to submit them to our DJ. We just sat down and Googled any song we could think of and when this one came on it was clear that it was the one.“
Krystle: “We let our parents pick the songs for the dances. My dad chose ‘Daddy’s Girl’ by Peter Cetera, a song we used to dance to when I was little. Alex’s mom chose ‘You’ll be in my Heart’ by Phil Collins.“
