Believe me, I know how cliche it sounds, but this wedding was just so beautiful. It was classic elegance at its finest. As you might imagine, I get to go to a lot of weddings. I see a lot of different details and I taste a lot of cakes. ;) In all of my years, I have never seen personal sized, mini wedding cakes like the ones Loren and Kyle had, and I was so excited about them. If I could insert my signature “laugh till’ you cry” emoji here, I totally would, because my level of excitement over these cakes was definitely hilarious. What is it with girls and miniature things?! Anything that is a tiny version of itself makes me so happy!
Alright, enough about cakes. Let’s get to the stuff that really matters. I want to tell you about this couple, because they are the sweetest, most wonderful people. (I already told the story of their proposal here, so you can go check that out if you’re curious!) They are both scientists, and that’s actually how they met. Kyle was a TA and Lauren was assigned to his chemistry lab group. Lauren is basically a next level genius, and she needed zero extra help, but she was really interested in Kyle so she kept showing up to his office hours…but he didn’t get the hint. So, she kept on showing up (sometimes with homemade cookies), until he finally figured it out and eventually asked her to go on their first date. And, you know, the rest was history. ;)
After getting to know these two, I can’t help but notice how much this story is a metaphor for their relationship. They are just such a great team! In much the same way that Lauren kept showing up for Kyle at the very beginning, he has shown up for her in every way throughout the course of their love story. And that kind of showing up for each other, that kind of persistence, is what great marriages are made of. These two have what it takes to go the distance, and it was such an honor to document the start of this next chapter for them!
